Thorsten was born in 1979 in Fulda, Germany, where he grew up. He had always been interested in sports, playing football, table tennis and badminton. At the age of nine Thorsten's father took him to a local pool hall. On his 10th birthday Thorsten received a miniature pool table. By age 16 he had won his first open adult tournament, of 128 players in the state of Hessia.

He is a 3x World Nine-Ball Champion and a 5x World Straight Pool Champion. When  Thorsten won the 2003 WPA World Nine-Ball Championship, he became the youngest World Champion at that time and the 3rd German to become a World Champion after Oliver Ortmann (1995) and Ralf Souquet (1996).

He is one of our German Brand Ambassadors and he joined the Ambassador Pro Team in January 2018. He travels around the world to compete against the best players and to go for victories on the most prestigious pool tournaments. In March 2019, he turned 40 years of age. That's more than 30 years of experience in playing pool billiard. What a great love and dedication to the sport!
